Named after the town of Arborio, located in the fertile Po River Valley of northern Italy, this beautifully translucent short-grain rice is the shining star ofrisotto, one of the great classic dishes of the Mediterranean. Arborio rice has a characteristically rich and creamy consistency, as well as the unique ability to fully absorb the flavors of whatever it is cooked with. Whether it’s made simply with broth, wine, butter and onion—or with any number of other ingredients—this rice makes a delicious side dish or an impressive main course.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
1 cup of Royal® Superfino Arborio Rice
2 cups of water
1 tbsp. of oil/butter (optional)
pinch of salt (optional)
Stove Top:Take 1 cup of Royal® Superfino Arborio Rice and gently rinse twice, then drain. Place the rice into a saucepan and add 2 cups of water, oil and salt. Place saucepan (uncovered) over high heat and bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Let water reduce slightly below the rice level, then lower the heat. Place a tight lid on the saucepan and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
Microwave:Take 1 cup of Royal® Superfino Arborio Rice. Drain the rice and add 2¼ cups of fresh water. Cook in a microwave-safe bowl on medium for 15-20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. If rice is too hard in the first cooking, use more water. Use less water if it is too soft.
