COOKING TIPS:

Can you marinate chicken too long in Italian dressing?

Extending the marinating time enhances the flavor, resulting in a more distinct taste. However, it is possible to marinate for as short as 30 minutes. It is advisable to avoid marinating for over 12 hours, as this can lead to meat breakdown and alterations in texture due to prolonged exposure to the marinade.

Is it okay to marinate chicken in olive oil?

The chicken remains moist and juicy thanks to the inclusion of extra virgin olive oil. Furthermore, the tenderizing effect of fresh lemon juice and balsamic vinegar helps to break down the chicken fibers.

Can you put Italian dressing on chicken?

Indeed! Grilling chicken that has been soaked in Italian dressing is a breeze - simply take it out of the marinade and cook on a medium-high heat grill until it is fully cooked.

How long should I marinate chicken?

Allow 5-6 hours for optimal flavor and texture. If time is limited, even a 10-minute marinade will enhance the taste of the chicken's exterior. Marinating without acidic ingredients can extend the duration, but it will not enhance the results, so it is advisable to limit the maximum time to 24 hours.
