The holidays are time for having lots of partieswith family and friends. That means at some point you're going to have to come up with a new side-dish.

My aunt brought this hot onion dip to a party years ago and it was a total hit! Everyone was begging her for the recipe.

She told us that some people call it the "2+2+2 Dip" because it makes it easy to remember the recipe ingredients that way.

  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 2 cups real mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

2+2+2 Dip. Get it? It doesn't get much more simple than that!

Amy, I made this recipe last summer and it was great. We tried it over Thanksgiving however and there was a lot of oil on top. More than you could blot off with a paper towel. We had to scoop it off with a measuring cup. Do you know why this happened?

I love this recipe because you can make a little or a lot!
I make it just for me using a quarter cup of each. I microwave the onions for a minute, or until just soft then add the cheese and mayo and cook for another minute. I like it as a burger topping.

Hi Amy, can I add bacon to this ?

Hi Yolanda! Yes I think that would be delicious! I would cook the bacon first so that its crispy before you mix it into the onion dip.
