🚀 Memorable day at ESTEC! Last week HM King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and HM King Felipe VI of Spain visited #ESTEC, the technical heart of #ESA in Noordwijk,. The visit underscored the significance of international collaboration in space exploration and our colleagues Enrique Santiago and Guillermo Centelles Hidalgo from the Deimos GNSS team at ESTEC had the privilege of meeting with Spanish astronaut Pedro Duque, who was part of the accompanying delegation! ⭐ 📸 👩🚀 🪐

🚀 We're thrilled to announce the results of the #ADIFHackathon, where Deimos proudly sponsored the prize for the most creative and technological idea! 🏆Congratulations to the CHROMA RAIL team Carlos Moreno Zayas, Juan Pedro Franco Martos, Manuel Calero Catena, Miriam Moreno Molero and Nikolaos Kallinteris Abreu for their outstanding achievement! 🌟 Their innovative concept involves the use of LEDs on platforms to inform users, along with a smart bracelet that serves as a guide through the station. The proposal even includes the possibility of providing information through light on the train windows. 🚆Other winning proposals from the hackathon include an application to assist seniors on their journey from home to their destination and guidance using images generated by artificial intelligence #AI. 📱👵The event, hosted at the ADIF Railway Technologies Center (CTF) in Málaga, brought together 42 students over two days. They brainstormed solutions to enhance traveler information at future stations using generative AI. 🚉A huge thank you to ADIF, Universidad de Málaga and Railway Innovation Hub for organizing such an inspiring and forward-thinking event!

ESA's #Proba3 double-satellite mission was unveiled to the media today at Redwire Space Europe in Belgium and Nuno Ávila was there representing Deimos 🛰☀ The scientific goal of the mission, scheduled for launch in September 2024, is to extensively study the Sun’s corona by creating #SolarEclipses in orbit on demand. Additionally, it will validate several #FormationFlying techniques: the two satellites comprising Proba-3 will operate in formation as if they were a single giant-sized spacecraft. This marks #ESA's first attempt at flying two spacecraft in precise formation together.Deimos participates in this mission by leading the Proba-3 Rendezvous Experiment, which addresses key challenges for future Close Proximity Operation missions. The experiment will validate several core #GNC Guidance, Navigation, and Control technologies that have never been tested before in orbit, such as rendezvous in non-circular orbits and autonomous rendezvous with non-cooperative targets. The experiment is being conducted in collaboration with University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest DTU - Technical University of Denmark the Institute of Space Science Romania, for , PROBA-3’s prime.

To celebrate the International Day of Mathematics last Thursday the Spanish newspaper EL ESPAÑOL shared Deimos Trainee Claudia Reyero's remarkable achievement as the ⭐only woman⭐ graduating from the pioneering Double Degree in Computational Mathematics and Software Engineering, a program with a 100% employment rate. Claudia's journey reflects her lifelong passion for mathematics, which led her to pursue this innovative career path at U-tad University. Her story exemplifies the importance of encouraging diversity and empowering young women in STEM fields, paving the way for future generations of innovators.
